Field trip OZCAR OHGE / Strengbach Watershed - The Strengbach Watershed is a granitic watershed (80ha) located in Noth East of France, in the Vosges Mountains at altitudes between 880 and 1150 m and with highly incised side slopes. This catchment is located in a remote area characterized by forest management. The forest covers 90% of the area and corresponds about to 80% spruce and 20% beech. The site is managed by Ecole et Observatoire des Sciences de la Terre (University of Strasbourg/CNRS-INSU-France). This observatory is studied in terms of biogeochemical cycles in a temperate forested granitic catchment submitted to acid rain, and also, predict future evolutions of ecosystems to disturbance as intensive agricultures, forest management or climate and rain changes. |

Exhibition on Critical Zones ZKM Karlsruhe, Germany - (https://zkm.de/en/exhibition/2020/05/critical-zones)
For a long time the reactions of Earth to our human actions remained unnoticed, but in recent times with the protest movement Fridays for Future climate crisis has moved into public consciousness. The thought exhibition »CRITICAL ZONES« invites us to deal with the CRITICAL situation of the Earth in various ways and to explore new modes of coexistence between all forms of life.
